A charmingly unusual piece of vintage restaurant ware, this porcelain tabletop vessel sits somewhere between a condiment holder, a flower vase, and a cry for attention! Bell-shaped in form and decorated with delicate pink floral sprigs, not only did it serve as an actual bell (still functional) for calling the attention of the waiter, but its three compartments were designed to hold mustard (in the centre) and salt & pepper on either side.

The central opening for mustard now lends itself beautifully to a hold flowers or even cooking utensils. 

Equal parts functional object and conversation piece, this is the sort of delightfully odd antique that gives a shelf, table, or kitchen corner instant character.
